2013 Hoffman Challenge

Hoffman Challenge fabric is finally here!

Look how gorgeous!

 This year the Hoffman Challenge is celebrating its 24th Anniversary. The Challenge started with 94 enthusiastic quilters, and in some years, the number of entries has grown to more than 700. In addition to the three quilt categories (pieced, appliqué and mixed technique), new categories include clothing (wearable art), accessories, and dolls. While the majority of the entries come from the United States, a wide variety of international entries are received. Each year, the top entries are grouped into traveling collections and visit quilt and fiber shows, seminars, quilt shops and quilt- and doll-makers guilds nationwide and in Canada.

$100 includes your sewing space, cutting & ironing stations + 8 meals

Let’s start out 2013 with no leftover unfinished projects!

• Bring your own projects to finish up, basic sewing & cutting supplies.
• Wear comfy clothes (or jammies & slippers!)
• Sleep in your own bed, come & go as you please.

• Retreat opens each morning at 8, doors close each night at 10 p.m.
• The shop will be available to you during the Retreat.

Redwood Mural

 

Just down the alley from our shop, Steven Ball & his wife Donna have been working on a gorgeous mural of Redwood Trees on the back of the Bank of Sierra building.

Yesterday as we stopped by the shop, we found them working away in the cold sunshine.

It's almost finished. You'll have to stop by & see. It's amazing.

It will be the largest mural in the valley when it's completed.
