Summer Fun at the Mermaid!

 Summer Camp with Cat was a huge success!

Catherine Wilson is a Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructor we brought up from Southern California.
Everyone had a great time!

 Becki's Shaman Chicken & Mermaid Doll classes have been very popular.

Of course, our Breakfast Clubs & FINtastic Mini Retreats have been 

a TON-O-FUN!

Everyone has been very productive.  

The retreat meals seemed to be pretty popular.

 

 We were also very lucky to have Nancy Rink visit us & talk about her new BOM, Color Love. Her beautiful quilt is hanging in the shop if you want to visit us.

This BOM will begin soon at Calico Mermaid - as soon as I get everything
unpacked & prepared!

Jolly Jingle Workshop

Our Second Annual Jolly Jingle Workshop was an amazing success!

Our terrific teachers, Jenny, Karen, Margaret, & Sheri, had 13 workshops from which to choose. 

Over 3 days, participants made up to 8 different Christmas projects.

There were paper piecing projects, applique, quilted, sewing projects, & handwork. 

There were small & large projects - something for everyone!

 

 

  It was a great week of making new stitchy friends & enjoying some longstanding friendships.

We just finished a whirlwind week with Catherine Wilson, of 

Queenie Quilts from Southern California.

Beginning paper piecers & experienced Judy Neimeyer addicts 

all enjoyed creating Judy's amazing  Quiltworx patterns.

Cat, certified Judy Neimeyer Instructor, does an amazing job teaching paper piecing.

Underwater Holidays! 

ANY holiday - but underwater!

Start thinking Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day, 

St. Patrick's Day, Easter...

How's that for something a little different?! 

The Challenge packet has a half yard of a luscious Hoffman batik, & you must use a recognizable amount in your challenge piece - as much or as little as you want - and add whatever you want.

The size can vary from 12" square to 36" square - additional details are in the packet.

You could win $100 shopping spree at the Mermaid!

Challenges are due to Calico Mermaid on October 1 & the voting will begin October 4.

The winner will be selected by popular vote throughout the month of October & announced on November 1.
